Hi everyone,

Ahead of the Racketlon British Championships 2025 entry opening, I [Matilda Parslow] wanted to give you all a little bit of information regarding the GB selection committee and the selection process for the 2025 World Championships (it’s already that time again!).

Last year was UK Racketlon’s most successful World Championships ever, and I am delighted to say that Jack Bishop and Peter Barton will be continuing along with me on the selection panel this year.

Dan Busby will no longer be continuing on the panel as he has other commitments coming up, and we thank him for all the hard work put into the teams last year, ultimately leading the GB 1st Team to a silver medal in 2024. His advice and input was so integral to the team selections in 2024 and we are very grateful for all the time and effort he put in.

World Team Championships Selection / British Championships

The World Team Championships will be held, for the third and final year, in Rotterdam between Wednesday 30th July and Sunday 3rd August 2025, and the GB Selection committee will be selecting our squads across the open categories and age groups (both junior and senior grades). Further information regarding the World Championships Teams and Singles Championships is due to be released soon.

As in previous years, selection will be based on a range of criteria including performance on the World Tour and at UK Tour events. However, the primary selection opportunity is the British Championships which will be held at Parklangley in Beckenham on 12th-13th April 2025.

Entry for the British Championships will open at 6pm on Sunday 9th February.

For players who wish to represent an age group criteria (juniors or seniors), please ensure you enter that age group if it is offered at the British Championships. Let me know if there are any issues with this.

If you are unable to attend the British Championships, but you are eager to be considered for selection for a team at the World Championships, please let the selection committee know by contacting me or one of the other committee members or grabbing one of us at a tournament.

Selection takes place soon after the British Championships. If you do want to be considered and you’re not playing at the British Championships, let us know sooner rather than later!

If you have any questions about anything at all regarding the World Teams Championships then please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Thank you and good luck to everyone in all the upcoming tournaments.
