UK Racketlon

Written by James Pope

This past weekend, there was plentiful success for the UK players at the Finnish Open in Helsinki.  Primarily this was through Dan Busby took home his second World Tour title of the season as he defeated Swede Mikael Rehn in the final.  In addition to Busby’s glory, there was a Men’s B title for Mark Steeden who in a hectic Sunday also came a close second in the Men’s O45s final.  Jon Spinks claimed third in the Men’s C, Jason Granville second in the Men’s O40s as UK players had an excellent time in the singles.  In the doubles, Duncan Stahl got an early birthday present as, partnering Amke Fischer they brought home the Mixed A Doubles title.  Ed Harvey & Jon Spinks claimed third in the Men’s B Doubles while Piers Boden with Finnish partner Luka Penttinen claimed an excellent second place in the Men’s A Doubles.  All in all a great weekend for the Brits in Finland.  Results are available here
