LAST CHANCE TO ENTER

The 14th FIR Racketlon World Championships at Surrey Sports Park, 21st – 24th August is set to be one of the biggest celebrations of Racket Sports the UK has ever seen. EntryCLOSES on THURSDAY 7TH AUGUST.

I would like, if I may, to take you on a short journey. Having volunteered at London 2012 and had the most incredible time carrying medals and flowers in a (slightly odd looking) purple suit, I was very much unwilling to apply to the Commonwealth Games as a volunteer. At the last minute I fired off an application, and would get an interview, but throughout the whole process was relatively unfussed. When I received an offer to work Press Operations at the squash, I accepted it, but was not in anyway as excited as when I got my London offer. I did consider pulling out of the role, even through April I wasn't sure I could be bothered. If I had pulled out, I wouldn't have met half the top squash players in the world, been able to watch the fine displays of squash from the best seats in the house and have this picture taken with Nick Matthew:

Me and Nick

I basically had a wonderful 11 days at the Commonwealth Games and am now so eternally thankful for not walking away from the volunteer role.

So where I am going with this? It is very simple, the 2014 Racketlon World Championships, here in the UK, in 2 weeks time are going to be the ultimate playing experience for a UK based Racketlon player. When you consider the number of Racketlon playing nations, we are unlikely to see the World Championships here again for at least a decade. This is your one chance to play a world championships, on home soil, it will not be this convenient for years to come

We all sometimes wonder about entering a tournament, missing the odd one because the timing isn't quite right or you don't feel 100%, but this is the one tournament you do not want to miss. It will be a great tournament, and I would hate for you to miss out.  I could have missed out on an awesome week in Glasgow, I am very thankful I didn't. I'll wager you'll feel the same about the 2014 Racketlon World Championships.

So, please, ENTER NOW.

Entry closes Thursday 7th August and there will not be an opportunity to enter after this date!

Everyone at English Racketlon would hate for the players who have made racketlon in the UK what it is today to miss out on this opportunity, so please enter right now!

Thanks
