Redbridge Racketlon Tournaments
Former O45's World Champion Dave Lazarus hosts regular racketlon events normally on bank holidays and the Xmas event is the most popular (between Xmas and New Year). Check out the events page for the exact dates. Also the training home of former Mens World Champion Calum Reid.
It starts at 1pm ordinarily, costs £15 and is bring your own shuttles. Payment on the day. It is a very well organised event with plenty of sport and the sports not played necessarily in the traditional racketlon order.
Redbridge have been doing racketlon tournaments now for well over 6 years. A real community spirit has developed which really shows what sport is all about. David is a very experienced organiser in a range of sports (in particularly squash) and has organised racketlon events for over 4 years. His introductions to the tournaments are legendary....if you ever want to know what the gumi arm is.
There is also a regular club at Redbridge on a Sunday evening between 6-8pm. This is organised via a whatsapp group - contact Keith if interested in coming along to this. There are over 20 members and the club is growing all the time with a wide range of standards.
Previous tournament winners include Duncan Stahl, Keith Lesser, Robbie Wong and Rob Carter. The tournament is normally split into two categories. One for more serious racket sports players and one for fun. All entries are via Dave Lazarus See contact details below.
Lazarus attracts the good, the improving, the young and the spirited and his tournaments are a really great mix of talent, grit, determination and most importantly fun. Youngster, Elise Lazarus is a regular and it's amazing to see how much Elise has improved at the other sports (being already an expert squash player!).
Even O60's player Stephen Lesser competed in last year's event. The local accountant (Lesser & Co) really enjoy's Dave's events and the Xmas event in particular proves popular.
