UK Racketlon

There are just 5 (FIVE) days left to enter the 2017 English Open which starts at 1pm on Friday 5th May (doubles categories) at the Redbridge Sports Centre.  Entry is online here:

If you are keen to earn yourself a few GB Caps at the European Championships this coming August then you must play either the English Open and/or the British Championships (24th & 25th June, Nottingham).  As we get nearer to the final selection decision, the GB Selection committee have determined we will be sending the following teams:

  • GB 1 (Elite Division)
  • GB 2 (Amateur Division)
  • GB 3 (Amateur Division)
  • GB U16s
  • GB U21s
  • GB O45s
  • GB O55s
  • GB O40s (to be confirmed).

Details on event timings can be found here (please check these as this is a long tournament!)

Clearly, due to the fear of GB 4 repeating their previous success*, the FIR have decided to limit entry to TWO amateur division teams per nation.  More importantly, anyone wishing to play in an age classified team must play in that age cateogory at the English Open and/or British Championships.  Entry for the English Open CLOSES on Monday 24th April at 11:59 am (BST), entry for the British Championships remains open, however we fully expect this event to reach capacity well in advance of the scheduled closing date (teh East Midlands Open filled up in a week, 4 weeks before the event was due to close for entries) as their is a very strong local Racketlon community.

* This may be more realistically due to aiming to play the team event in a one to one and a half days
