Report on www.racketlon.net

Day 2 Summary - No tennis for Reid, Capper dominant

Reid (Calum not Christian) beat Jermaine Manners in the final in a competitive but ultimately one sided encounter. Jermaine played well in badminton and squash but will be frustrated by only getting 4 in table tennis after an excellent 15 points against Granville earlier in the day. 21-4, 17-21, 21-11 +23

Barbara Capper also won the final with margin to spare against first timer Amy Garrett.

Arif Wadud won the U13's final v Hannah Boden with Manners (Jordan) picking up another podium finish for the family in 3rd place.

Neil Rayner beat Dave Edgar in the B final and Robert Sampson beat Stephen Dow in the C final.

Phil Todd is getting ready for the player's party and exhibition table tennis and squash boxing match. Another global first in Manchester.

Result Reporter is up to date with results and day 2 follows tomorrow with veterans and mixed doubles categories.

Keith Lesser along with Frank Kleiber gave a very fitting tribute at the well attended prize ceremony to Tournament Organiser Phil Todd alongside support team Richard & Rachel Lawrence with youngster Joe Howard and Keith Lesser "the Brian Clough of racketlon". Of course Lesser also added the English Open is at the end of October and in theory should be bigger and better than the British Open. Lesser reports officially that this is "a tough act to follow". And hopefully Todd appreciates the English Racketlon support team and will help us with our marketing and facebook to ensure another phenomenal international event in 2 months time. The English team also report that World Champs 2014 already has some big focus with regular daily meetings via whatsapp.

Day 3

Gersdorf wins. D'Arcy wins. Capper/Lesser win. Capper wins. More detail on twitter @keithracketlon or view the tweets on the ERA news page.

Back to Day 2 AM

The final is Manners v Reid as expected. Reid didn't play tennis yet.

Manners had a great match with Granville.

Gersdorf dropped out v Stahl due to tiredness and we don't recognise this former fighter as he now looks more like a pussy cat. He did of course get a great win v Junillon in the quarter finals.

Day 1

Junillon and Braizelles won the men's doubles A. Hopwood and Thomson who partied all night in Manchester won the B doubles v brothers picken and picken celebrating their birthday. Top badminton pair Mairs and Edgar were unlucky not to make the final and took 3rd place. Capper v newcomer Garrett in the ladies final.
