Bradford introduces a Centre of Excellence for Racketlon
Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College in Bradford has decided to set up a Centre of Excellence for Racketlon. Performance coaches will be working with a group of elite young people from next month, taken from a variety of selection processes. The school has outstanding facilities with excellent sports halls and badminton and tennis courts onsite, including a state of the art fitness studio.
The Centre of Excellence will be a beacon for English Racketlon and hopefully generate interest around Europe too. A highly motivated teaching department and team headed by Jermaine Manners and Ann Cosgrove will be driving forward the sport with high quality teaching and learning, creating the players of the future who will be assured of active role models and clinical practitioners helping them all the way. Coaching is being funded through the school and in the future, this programme will link with other high schools and primary schools in the area, especially if further sponsorship can be obtained.
The schools head teacher and all the staff are very forward thinking and recognise each young persons potential to the full. All the young people are positive, enthusiastic , determined and eager to succeed. Qualities all Racketlon players need!
