UK Racketlon

Last weekend Paul Drinkhall dominated at the English Table Tennis National Championships (winning four golds - U21's, Mens Singles & Doubles and Mixed Doubles). This very evening top British squash player James Willstrop was victorious for the first time in his career against Ramy Ashour in the Atco Super Series Squash Finals hosted by queens club.

                 7/11, 11/6, 11/8, 11/8 (54m)

Both are impressive feats. What sports fans far and wide may not be aware of is the impressive performance of British Number One Jermaine Manners in the Canadian Racketlon Open - A SUPER World Tour event.

Jermaine Manners takes on Richard Thomson next which will be one of his toughest tests thus far in his racketlon career. Manners who won the 2008 Scottish Open and impressively reached the semi-finals of the 2008 English Open (losing to eventual winner Stefan Adamsson) has emulated both of these feats with a semi-final appearance in the Canadian Open - A Super World Tour Event.

It should be a very interesting match. Thomson is no doubt one of the strongest racketlon players in the world with "average" table tennis and a strong "final three", particularly squash in which he holds a world doubles title (which he won at the same time as winning the Canadian Racketlon Open a couple of years ago!).

Britain's number one against Canada's number one. This one should be explosive. The table tennis and badminton will be competitive and if Manners has a lead after these two, he may fancy his chances.
