UK Racketlon

Nottingham Calling

The season is ending, which is of course a sad time, just two events remain on the UK Tour Calendar for 2015.  Entry closes very soon for the final one day singles event, the Herts Open at Letchworth on Sunday 1st November.  Letchworth’s location always results in strong fields attracting the best from London, the South East and players based along the M1 spine of England.  So, please get your entries in now, capacity is limited at this venue, when it is full then classes will close.

However, the 2015 year could not be allowed to drift off without a suitable huzzah and so we are off to Nottingham, for a two day event at a new venue for Racketlon, the Nottingham West Bridgeford David Lloyd on Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th November 2015.

The plan is for an end of season tournament and social event.  Saturday will see all the usual banded singles categories with play starting at 9am.  On Saturday night, George Roberts is arranging a meal and quiz for all interested players (guest rounds rumoured to include “Fun with Flags” from Ray Jordan amongst others).  On Sunday there will be a flood of doubles categories and Vets/Junior singles with players able to enter two doubles categories (one per session, morning & afternoon).  The morning session will feature the Mixed doubles and the Lottery doubles, as well as the start of the Junior & Vets singles (so these players can’t play Mixed/Lottery doubles), and the afternoon session featuring the Men’s and Ladies doubles.  Entry to the doubles is limited, so please enter this event early to avoid disappointment. Enter Here on Tournament Software.

We really hope this event will bring down the curtain in a fitting way on the UK Tour for 2015.  2015 has seen us produce a tour that has pushed our boundaries whilst also staying faithful to some familiar venues.  We have had a 1 day event with 70 entriesa liveried car, a new world tour event and even us organise an event in another country.  New volunteers and tournament organisers have brought a great vibe and energy to UK Racketlon, the Facebook page has expanded our reach and developed our community.  2015 has been massive and Nottingham is the tournament we believe will end the season in style, with fun, friendship and plenty of excellent Racketlon.
